Microsoft: He is our worst enemy

Look how Microsoft smashed Windows XP, which was once the apple of its eye.

Microsoft senior executive Kevin Turner, Microsoft’s image problem with legacy software

In a speech to 14,000 Microsoft partners Wednesday, Turner said that cloud technologies will not affect Microsoft in the software field, but rather increase the company’s sales.. While recommending WPC attendees to install Active Directory and System Center, Turner claimed that this would prepare customers to move “to the cloud.”

Turner also offered conference attendees Windows XP, Office 2003 and Advised to get rid of Internet Explorer 6 and enter the “new world” of Windows 7, Office 2010, IE9. Turner added: “Windows XP, Office 2003 and IE6 deserve a big round of applause.. God bless them. They have worked for the last 12, 13 years. we love these products. we really love these products. They’ve been very helpful to a lot of people, including the people in this room.”

“But you know what? They died. They died. 2014 end of life. Right now they are Microsoft’s worst enemies, especially Windows XP. Now we have to innovate.”

Turner added that Lync, SharePoint, collaboration and the “cloud” will not be on anyone’s mind without leaving these legacy applications.. According to Turner, many customers identify Microsoft with legacy Windows and legacy Office.. That’s how many feel about Microsoft and the company’s partner ecosystem. Saying that Microsoft currently has 42,000 partners trained in the cloud, Turner thinks this number should rise to 642,000.

How much will Microsoft’s efforts to get rid of Windows XP yield? We will see you all together in the coming months.
