Rolling Back to Previous Version in Windows 10

Windows 10 updates have problems and they are annoying. Most of them, while annoying, do not hinder the use of the system for most users. However, for the small minority, Windows 10 update can turn into issues that do not run some programs properly or interfere with gaming.. In such cases, Microsoft offers the option to revert to the previous version of Windows 10. For example, if you updated to April Update and you are not satisfied with it, you can revert to the old version update Windows 10 1709.

Back to Old Update

When you update to Windows 10 1803, Windows ā€œ Creates a Windows.old folder at the root of your Cā€ drive. If you deleted this folder, you cannot revert to Windows 10 old version. If you haven’t deleted Windows.old, you can revert to the old version.

Make sure you’re signed in to Windows 10 with an administrator account. Open Settings and go to Update & Security. Select the Recovery tab and navigate to Go back to previous version of Windows 10. Click ‘Get started‘.

Windows 10 will ask you why you want to go back, you can choose any answer to proceed to the next step where it will ask to check for updates.

The Check for updates option will appear. By saying no and rejecting, Windows 10 will start to withdraw.. Restoring will take some time but will work out smoothly. It will take thirty minutes or up to an hour.

If some components are not working properly after the rollback, for example the screen turns off or the Wi-Fi connection fails, you probably need to update your drivers. Also, you should check for updates and install only those with security patches.

Updates can often cause problems with programs or games. If you are not someone who is dealing with such processes, if you are just a normal user, Windows 10 updates will not affect you negatively, on the contrary, they will benefit you in terms of security.
