All shortcut icons appear as Acrobat Reader icons. If you are having a problem, you can create a solution by following the steps below.
The source of the problem is due to the corruption of the iconcache file. Do not forget to take a backup of your system before performing the following operations.
Method 1 :
1. For Win7, download the reg file here. For Vista, download the reg file here.
2. After parsing the zip file, run the reg file inside.
3. Restart your system.
Method 2 :
1. Make hidden files and folders visible.
2. Navigate to C:UsersOwnerAppDataLocal (Owner is the username and may differ on your system) and delete the IconCache.db file.
3. Restart your system.
Method 3 :
1. Save and close all your programs.
2. Open the Task Manager with the Ctrl + Shift + Esc key combination. Find Explorer.exe from the running processes and end the task. Then click File “New Task” in the Task Manager window.. In the window that opens, type CMD.EXE and start the task. And execute the following command line.
CD /d %userprofile%AppDataLocal
DEL IconCache.db /a
EXIT
3. Go to File “New Task” in Task Manager and type explorer.exe and run. Restart your system.
Method 4:
Create a new administrator account and check if the problem is fixed, it’s problematic transfer account to new account.
