The world’s first realizable LTE chip from LG

LG introduced the world’s first practically viable 4G chip. This chip has set LTE (Long Term Evolution) technology as a standard. This 13x13mm modem has dimensions that can be placed inside a mobile phone. It can also achieve the high data rates promised by LTE.

According to LG, this chip can achieve 100Mbps download and 50Mbps upload speeds. The Windows Mobile device on which the test was carried out reached 60Mbps download and 20Mbps upload speeds. Thus, thinner and smaller mobile phones will also be able to exhibit fast data exchange performance.

This speed achieved is a milestone. In this way, mobile phones will be able to provide much more than today’s internet performance. With these high speeds, a 700 MB movie file can be downloaded in less than a minute. It will also be possible to download four 1080p HD movies simultaneously.

The LTE standard is also known for offering lower latency than existing 3G forms. This feature may allow LTE to be preferred for two-way video calls and online multiplayer games.
